FeelWorld F6 Plus V2 review: a budget field monitor worth rigging up
For under $140, the F6 Plus V2 packs in waveform, vectorscope, and LUT support, tools most competitors reserve for monitors twice the price. Here’s what it gets right, and the one limitation that might rule it out for your setup.
We looked at the F6 Plus V2 as the kind of monitor a solo shooter or small crew reaches for first: cheap enough to buy without agonizing over it, but capable enough to actually trust on set. Price below is current as of July 2026.
The Verdict
FeelWorld F6 Plus V2
For under $140, the F6 Plus V2 gives you tools most competitors reserve for monitors twice the price: real waveform and vectorscope readouts, LUT loading, false color exposure aids. The catch is the single HDMI input, cinema cameras and higher-end camcorders that only output SDI will need a converter first. For anyone shooting on a mirrorless or DSLR body with HDMI out, though, this is hard to beat at the price.
Pros
- Full monitoring toolkit (waveform, vectorscope, histogram, false color) rare at this price
- Multiple power options fit almost any existing power setup
- LUT support via SD card for previewing Log footage in Rec.709
Cons
- HDMI only, no SDI input — a dealbreaker if your camera only outputs SDI
- 500 cd/m² brightness struggles in direct sunlight versus pricier monitors
- Touchscreen menu can feel fiddly with gloves or in a rush
Frequently Asked
Does the F6 Plus V2 work with cinema cameras that output SDI?
Not directly, it’s HDMI input only. You’ll need an SDI-to-HDMI converter in the signal chain, which adds cost and a small amount of latency. If your camera has both SDI and HDMI outputs, use HDMI directly and skip the converter.
Is 500 cd/m² bright enough for outdoor shooting?
It’s usable in shade or overcast conditions, but direct sunlight will wash it out compared to monitors rated 1500+ cd/m². A monitor hood or sunshade helps significantly if you shoot outdoors often.
What is the difference between the F6 Plus and the F6 Plus V2?
The V2 is the current version with the same core feature set; earlier F6 Plus units are being phased out at retailers, so check which version you’re actually ordering.
Can it power itself off the camera battery?
No, it takes its own L-series or LP-E6 battery, DC input, or USB-C power bank. It doesn’t draw power from the camera itself.
