Osmo Pocket 4 & 4P firmware adds cloud offload and 10-bit D-Log slow motion
Both gimbals gain DJI Camera Cloud Service, which auto-uploads footage to Google Drive, OneDrive or a NAS while the camera is idle. The Pocket 4 adds faster subject tracking and zoom-while-tracking; the Pocket 4P gains 10-bit D-Log slow motion, updated v2.0 LUTs and 45-degree joystick input.
EOS C80 & C400 firmware 1.0.7.1 adds Cinema Exposure Mode
A new Cinema Exposure capture mode reallocates dynamic range by ISO, recovering up to two stops of highlight headroom above base ISO. The C400 also gains Auto Exposure Ramping Compensation with supported Cine-Servo lenses, plus support for the CN30x40 40-1200mm and a tidied-up log shooting menu.
Z5 II firmware 1.20 and Coolpix P1000 firmware 1.9
The Z5 II update renames Cloud Picture Control to Imaging Recipe, adds a Wi-Fi Always On option for smart-device connections, an automatic monitor display switch, and focus-position saving with user settings. The P1000 fix addresses rare lock-ups when zooming during burst shooting.
Nikon D6 firmware 1.71 and D780 firmware 1.21 fix exposure bugs
Nikon updated its two remaining DSLRs for the first time in a year: D6 v1.71 fixes occasional underexposure with AF-D lenses and a shutter-speed limit bug in high-speed flash sync, while D780 v1.21 fixes underexposure that could occur when changing zoom during high-speed continuous burst shooting.
DaVinci Resolve 21.0.4 adds Sony FX5 X-OCN support and proxy relinking
Blackmagic Design released DaVinci Resolve 21.0.4, adding Sony FX5 X-OCN support, the ability to relink proxy clips across different formats, Affinity legacy file import, a new scripting API for timeline clip selection, and stability fixes for realtime playback on large cached timelines.
Lightroom Classic 15.5 adds Feather/Edge masking and Render to DNG
Adobe released Lightroom Classic v15.5 with new Feather and Edge controls for AI masks, a Render to DNG option that flattens edits into a fresh raw-derived file, adjustable crop-preview opacity, and support for additional GoPro camera models and GoPro, Laowa, and SIGMA lenses.
EOS R1 & R5 Mark II headline a 16-camera firmware rollout
Canon pushed new firmware across 16 EOS R-series bodies, with the R1 moving to v1.0.2 and the R5 Mark II to v1.0.3 (later 1.1.1). Highlights include C2PA content authentication, autofocus refinements, and professional workflow features carried down to older bodies like the R3 and R6 Mark II.
DaVinci Resolve 21.0.2 update
A maintenance release on top of Resolve 21 — faster image bypass switching, improved H.265 playback performance on NVIDIA GPUs, and cleaner text rendering in the inspector panel.
Cinema EOS gets USB device control (C400, C80, C70, C50, R5 C)
New USB control protocol lets these bodies be driven remotely for REC start/stop, iris, shutter, ISO, and focus. Also adds improved SRT workflows with auto-reconnect and a color-coded electronic level display on select models.
Z9 firmware 5.32 and Zf firmware 3.01
The Z9 update expands AF-area mode options for subject detection and adds selectable zebra colors (black, gray, red, green, blue). The Zf update changes how aperture re-adjusts on a lens after the standby timer expires.
Alpha 1, Alpha 9 III, Alpha 7S III & Alpha 7 IV unify around C2PA
A coordinated update across Sony’s pro line adds C2PA content-authentication support, plus direct cloud upload and network streaming on the a7 IV — part of Sony’s push to unify its camera ecosystem around content provenance.
Lumix S1R II, S1 II, S1 IIE, S5 II & S5 IIX firmware
Adds compatibility with Panasonic’s new DMW-DMS1 microphone and improves the video shooting experience. Installable over the air through the LUMIX Lab app.
Alpha 1 II firmware 4.00
Headline addition is Real-time Recognition AF+ with improved subject detection and tracking, plus Preset Focus and two new Creative Look film profiles (Film 2, Film 3).
DaVinci Resolve 21 — full release
The headline addition is a new Photo page that brings Resolve’s color tools to stills, positioning it as an alternative to Lightroom. Studio adds AI tools including IntelliSearch, CineFocus, automated blemish removal, and facial de-aging.
X-H2, X-T5, X-S20 & X100VI get REALA ACE and faster app transfers
REALA ACE Film Simulation lands on the X-T5 and X-H2, XApp transfer speeds jump roughly 50%, autofocus algorithms get a refresh, and the X-T5 picks up Adobe Cloud support.
