Affiliate Disclosure

The short version
Some links on Luminxel are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not change the price you pay.
Who we have relationships with
Luminxel currently participates in affiliate programmes with Adorama and SmallRig. If that list changes, this page changes with it.
What this does and does not affect
It does not affect what we recommend. The guides, calculators and equipment pages on this site were written to answer technical questions accurately, and the conclusions are the same whether or not a product has an affiliate programme behind it. Plenty of gear we recommend has no affiliate programme at all, and we link to it anyway. Where a product has a real limitation, we say so — you will find that throughout the site.
It does not affect prices. Affiliate commissions are paid by the retailer out of their own margin.
It does not affect what we measure. Specifications, test figures and calculator formulas come from manufacturer documentation and published measurements, and are cited where it matters.
How affiliate links are marked
Every affiliate link on this site carries the rel="sponsored" attribute, which is what Google asks publishers to use so search engines can tell a paid link from an editorial one. Sections containing affiliate links also carry a short visible note.
Why we do it at all
Luminxel is a reference site with no paywall and no subscription. Hosting, tooling and the time it takes to keep 250-odd pages accurate all cost something. Affiliate commissions are how that gets paid for without putting the content behind a login.
