In practice, all-in-one gimbal cameras tend to produce noticeably smoother footage on rougher movement — running, climbing stairs, mounting a bike — simply because the whole system was engineered as one lightweight unit rather than a general-purpose stabilizer trying to handle a much heavier and more variable payload.

Choose an all-in-one gimbal camera if the priority is grab-and-go simplicity — vlogging, travel, run-and-gun social content — and you’re willing to trade sensor size and lens flexibility for something that fits in a pocket and works instantly. A phone gimbal splits the difference for anyone who’s already shooting primarily on a phone and just wants smoother motion without buying a dedicated camera at all.
